I am advised that Windows 8 is not allowing Proposal Writer 2012 to work.
The problem is with window Smart Screen.
Microsoft is now requiring software developer to purchase a digital signed certificate in order to publish to window 8. Window 8 will still run the software but it not very apparent on how to do this to the end user. I am giving away the program so there is no money to purchase this yearly certificate at this time.
So the work around requires the end user to do a few extra steps which I will explain below.
First you will see the software being install as usually on any window machine such as XP, Vista and Window 7.
But then it shows a blue band across your screen saying,
“Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting.
You must click the more info link on Smart Screen to allow the program to run.
The Next Screen will look like the image below.
You then must click the Run anyway button to allow the program to work.
Every time I update the program you will have to go through these steps as well.
I update the program often to fix bugs and add features so I know this is going to be a issue but until I find a work around this is the required steps.
